Areas of Specialty

  • Many patients come to therapy experiencing low motivation, fatigue, burnout, rumination, negative self-beliefs, and withdrawal. When it comes to treating depression, I work with patients to tailor interventions that address these symptoms in order to get some relief and start to stabilize mood in the long run.

  • Anxiety involves a constant cycle of worry and “what if” thoughts, along with urges to avoid worrisome situations. Together, we’ll break down what’s actually happening when you feel anxious and give you tools to feel more in control and better equipped to tolerate uncertainty.

  • The more I work with clients, the more tuned in I’ve become to their sleep. Insomnia is often co-occurring with other mental health disorders but goes untreated.

I’m trained in CBT-I, the gold standard behavioral treatment for insomnia, which can be completed in a short course of sessions and is very effective in regulating and improving the quality of sleep. CBT-I is highly structured and goes far beyond the typical sleep hygiene recommendations you may have gotten in the past.

  • OCD is referred to as the “doubting disorder” due to its constant unwanted and intrusive thoughts that can cause you to second guess yourself and the world around you. To neutralize these thoughts, you may find yourself engaging in compulsions that feel like you must do. If you have already been diagnosed with OCD, or wonder if you may have these symptoms, we’ll assess your presentation together and provide you with research backed strategies to quiet OCD’s nagging voice.

  • We’re wired for connection. And yet, sometimes that connection may impact mood, stir up anxiety, and bring up other intense feelings. Therapy for relationship challenges involves clarifying values and needs, enhancing communication skills, and coping with conflict in a productive way in order to cultivate fulfilling relationships.

  • Whether it’s an exciting milestone or an uncertain change, you may be seeking support around how to navigate transition. Therapy can allow for processing whether to take next step in a relationship or career, finding acceptance for the end of a chapter in your life, or coping with grief and loss.

  • Therapy offers a non-judgmental space to explore the areas of your life where you’re feeling stuck. Sessions can involve setting intentional goals that foster healthy lifestyle changes - whether it be reducing social media use, increasing exercise and activity, or sticking to a consistent sleep routine. Together, we’ll identify the steps you can take each week to connect to your goals and do so in a way that is consistent and sustainable.
